Well I passed!!!!!!

Well for the one or two people that read this blog I am proud to say I passed both Aviation Physics and Aviation Weather. Physics with a flat 70% which is just barely enough to get a recommendation to the FAA from ENMR and  Weather was a 77%. Not the best in the world I know I could of done better but hey it brought me down to Earth as in it reminded me one thing you can never stop learning about something you love and you will never know everything about the thing you love more then anything well I love two people more God and this one girl not going to say her name but you get my point. Anyways next semester I am taking stress management and Human Factors in Aviation and I cant wait!

Well took my finals

Well I took my finals, so far as of 9:57 Local I don't know my grades, but what I can tell you is I was in the same room for what felt like 12 hours but odds are was more like 5 hours. Anyways I can tell you this I bet I got like a C or a B which no matter what should not lower my grade past a 70 which means well I passed it for the recommendation to the FAA in a few years well 18-24 months after I get into ENMR. Well this may be my last post for a few week maybe A trip report about my Christmas trip to SAT and HOU but not sure yet.

Aviation Physics will kill me/ A little Veterans Day thank you

As you can probably tell from the post I am just having issues with my Aviation Physics Course. I am decent with Physics, but for some strange reason I cant connect aviation and Physics. I need to find someone who can help me with it should not be too hard to find someone in this town. Oh My aviation weather course still holding a B! This is a little tiny update. Now for Veterans day Thank You.

Dear Vets,

On this Day I would like to thank you for your service. No matter what you agreed to serve and defend your country and our freedoms, to the best of your ability. You knew the risks and excepted them. You charged into battle with out thinking why. You just did! So today of all days America thanks you, but we should thank you all everyday!

Well the Grade

So I told you all I had a mid term Tuesday and I would put the Grade up. Lets just say I am not happy with my self at all about it so with out further delay I got a 74 which murdered my grade in Aviation Weather down to a sad 82% from an 89% how ever I did get an 88% on my latest quiz which was on thunderstorms so that bumped me to an 84% so if my math is right if I keep getting 88%s I should be fine
Now onto my other course which just looks like pure hell on earth for me: Theory of Flight and Aerodynamics (Should be fun right?)

Well tomorrow is the day of my Mid Terms

Well tomorrow 10/15/13 at 09:35 MDT I have my mid term on aviation weather. Scared I won't do great but I will try my best! I guess I am just hoping for some good luck, to be on my side or something! All I can say now is as soon as I find out my results I will let you all know. In other news I am proud of my self I got a 26/27 on my week 7 (last week 10/12/13) aviation weather quiz and did not understand 75% of the section it was on Cold fronts and cyclones which all of it was new to me (Will dive more into each section after my mid term is done and I have plenty of time to write about it!)

An update

So now for the near mid term update on my grade for the Aviation Weather Course I am taking. I have a B+ 87% well 86.6667 so I assume its rounded up to an 87. For a guy with little to no flying experience I take that as a great grade. But one thing I need to do is find someone who is at least a pilot to mentor me.

I got a C

I got a C on an aviation weather quiz. Yes me an airplane geek who lives breaths sleeps planes! I thought weather would be easy, but it is a pain in the butt when you have not heard of 1/2 the terms and the other 1/2 you have but have never needed to apply due to not being a pilot. I sure hope that in the long term this weather thing becomes easier! I may need to find a pilot to be my tutor for this course otherwise I may have some issues.

Sorry I looked like I was dead for a while

Well people I am back in school also known as High School. With that being said I am so sorry It has taken me over a month to post well updates: I passed a one course failed another and am planning to re-take as soon as I can which may be next summer. So with that drum roll please with the Aviation Security Course I got as my final grade a 98 and math don't ask as I said above I failed math has and never will be my thing. With that you may be wondering what in the world I am going to be taking this semester well besides my High School courses I will be taking Aviation Weather and starting week 9 of ENMR's semester I will be taking basically the way I see it an aviation physics 101 type course. So don't worry I am not dead and I will post updates when I can but school will come first before the blog okay who am I kidding I would much rather do this then Home Work. Now I got to have some fun this past weekend I got to go up in a Kit Version of a Piper Super Cub after using it for the back ground of my senior photos yes I am a senior in High School . The best part of the flight was we flew her open it was a blast. I have to thank the owner of her for letting us use her as the background then taking me up!  Now for photos (Keep in mind you can use these for wall papers and I plan on adding all the photos from the flight up to the Photos page)

Why I hate Blackboard

Now before I began my rant let me first tell you what Blackboard is. Blackboard is an online well class room for lack of a better term. In this I have every thing the professor assigns for the Aviation Security Course I am taking. Well Last Saturday we had a huge rain storm which knocked out power for just about one minute. At this time I had just said go to next question on a quiz I was taking, so the page did not loud so I refreshed the page after internet came back and it said I had finished the quiz when I knew I had not as I was only 8 questions in out of 25 questions. Thankfully my professor was nice and will let me re-take the quiz sometime this Saturday so as long as power does not go out then I will be a happy camper.
Now the rant. Don't worry its short!
Dear Blackboard
If a page does not loud during a quiz and one hits re-fresh well you think they finished the test and you kick them out of the test this is pure stupidniss. Please change to where if someone hits re-fresh just take them back to where they were instead of kicking them off the test.

So what exactly am I taking

So as of now I am taking two classes a math class which we will not talk about (its not that important okay yes math is important but its basically college algebra nothing to special) and the other class is a course in aviation security. The course its self is online so makes life easy for me as I don't have set time when I need to log on or anything, in fact most of the courses I will be taking this year as I plan on taking two more in the fall two more in spring then two the summer in between when I graduate from high school and when I head down to ENMR (Eastern New Mexico Roswell). Now you must be thinking to your self why in the world are you taking so many courses now, well a little thing called the sequester is the cause, When we went down to ENMR over spring break last year, the instructor well dean of program and one of the instructors for the program said I should start now, or as soon as I can so I am in the pipe so if I did well on a little aptitude test and she gives me her recommendation to the FAA in about three years I still had a chance to be interviewed and sent to the FAA training. So that's why I am trying to do as many courses as I can now to get them done and up to KOKC sooner then later, plus as I am in High School I get the courses for free thanks to my High School picking up tab and the summer stuff that's free as our local community collage gives a summer bridge scholarship where I take two basic courses which for me would be English and writing as this is the last math I need to take yes I took one last summer as well figured if they give it to me free may as well do it right?
Now lets talk about the course its self other then the fact its 100% on line. We do two chapters a week post something we learn on the two chapters and then take a quiz on them by Saturday night. The text book is very well written except I have found one small error they had a photo of a TED A320 which they called a Boeing 757. The book has opened my eyes to many aspects of TSA, and airline/government rules which I had never heard of, granted I am an Airplane Geek and not a Security/Law freak but still figured I would know some of them nope I did not know much of the rules and such so I am enjoying the course just because its something New to me Plane Related (NPR)

Welcome

So as this is the first blog post of Contact Departure I may as well introduce my self I am Jeremy a 18 year old high school senior (don't ask long story) who is well sorta enrolled in Eastern New Mexico Roswell Air Traffic Control Program which is one of 32 in the nation allowed by the FAA. The intention of this blog is to basically fallow my journey from a high school kid to a certified FAA employed Air Traffic Controller. So come with me!
